Journal Entry, Fernandez S. Wilmerino

August 5th 1907

Today was a great day, the cook made one of the best breakfasts ever. Me and the boys played some croquet in the morning. My wife was preparing the home for the guests that we are going to have over tonight. Just a small party. I have cut my friend out because he was a jackass during the last one. I’ve bought 4 of the most uncommon fish in all of the Mediterranean sea. 40 pounds each and we replaced their eyes with diamonds for looks. We have just bought 6 new outfits each for the dinner parties coming up. We are hoping to be looking better and more expensive then the Ricardo family. Last time both of our wives were wearing the same thing. I’ve gone to the bank today. Looks like we have around 10 000 dollars in that account. I just sold my steel mill to my neighbour across the street. We are looking to move in to the big mansion up on the hill because our 4000 square foot home isn't large enough anymore. My new steel mill is up and running and I’m paying the workers 5 dollars a day for their labour of 9 hours. I’m hopping to be buying some new machinery and unfortunately the workers pay will be lowered by 1 dollar.

The dinner went well tonight. The guests were very impressed by the fish. Luckily we made the Ricardo family look like crap. My wife looked stunning but was a bit angry that i was flirting with Mrs. Flavour. She cant do anything because Mrs. Flavour is married. I have proved tonight that i provide for my family and have the most money in town. When we move into the mansion i will host another party with 2 times more people. Now i must sleep....

Cornflakes

One of the first big cereal company Kellogg’s was founded by Will Keith Kellogg in 1906 coming out with one of the first breakfast cereals, the cornflake. Kellogg’s is one of the biggest companies in cereal history. As of today Kellogg’s has many different cereals and breakfast food. All from an accident that happened while forgetting about boiling wheat. Will Kellogg then decided to roll up the softened wheat and let it dry.. After it dried if flaked off into what are known as cornflakes. This is an invention that probably isn't well known but is still important. First made to help better feed hospital patients and now is known all around the world.

Why Is It Important To Study The Twentieth Century History

The twentieth century is the most important to study because all the events and moments during this time period changed the way we live today. The biggest wars of all time happened during this period. World War 1 and World War two, lead into the cold war. Events like the great depression where many people were left with nothing struggling to get a little bit of food, and keeping heat in their homes during the winter. The Atomic Bomb killing 90 000 people in seconds, and now the Hydrogen Bomb was built but no one will use it because we are to afraid to. There is enough nuclear weapons on earth that if nuclear war breaks out, there will be no more history to study. But there's not only war and bombs from this century, there are amazing things like new inventions that we would think impossible. Ipods, cell phones, 500 gig computers, fridges with Television, 100 inch screens, shoes with wheels, wireless everything, from ps1 to ps3, and Xbox 360, shoes with shocks, 30 inch rims, chrome everything, bling bling, big diamonds from blood diamonds, sunglasses with music in them, The Big Mac, Wendy’s and subway, Gangster music, Emo music, movie stars, lotteries, Nintendo, everything you can imagine we have invented or is coming out in future months. All those things would never have been created without the first inventions like the first telephone, and the first radio transmission's. Turning points going from half the world being poor, to one man having more money then a whole country has.
There are so many different things that happened in the 20th century that you must study it to be more familiar with our past and how our future will evolve with the things that we invent just as it evolved with the things that were invented in the 20th century. Important information for us to know lies in history and some of the most interesting facts happened during this century.
